Vatican City

Here are our pics of Vatican City. St. Peter's Basilica was really amazing and beautiful. Definitely hard to capture it through pictures. We toured inside one morning (taking turns because so many stairs) and then Ryan came back in the afternoon to climb up to the top of the dome and got some great pics of the square and museum below. The next day we went to the Vatican Museum and did the abbreviated visit since it is huge and could take days to explore. Our main objective was to see the Raphael rooms and the Sistine Chapel (no pics allowed).

Streets of Rome

Landon is always excited when we come across a carousel on our travels (which seems to happen a lot!) Since Gavin needed a snack break anyway, Daddy got Landon 4 tickets to ride the carousel. Landon had a good time picking a new animal for every ride. Daddy was a bit dizzy afterwards though ;)

More Rome!

We took one of our guide books recommended walking tours the one morning and saw lots of sights. Another beautiful day and of course stops along the way for yummy food.

Campo de Fiori (Rome)

We loved where we stayed in Rome. It was very central and made getting to many of the sights very easy. We rented a cute little apartment right off of the Campo de Fiori Square (pics below) which had a bunch of great restaurants, panini and pizza shops. We spent our mornings sightseeing and then after the boys napped we didn't have far to go for dinner in the evenings.

Colosseum

Here are our pics from the Colosseum. We really lucked out by getting tips to buy tickets ahead of time and at different locations and were therefore able to bypass the lines. Definitely worth it with the kiddos.

Rome, Italy: Part 1

Here are the first of our pictures from our time in Rome. We had a great time and the weather was perfect! There was so much to see and we somehow did actually see a lot. Our double stroller certainly logged a few miles on it during this vacation. No wonder we don't want to take that thing out again for a while ;)

Florence, Italy

Here are our pics from Florence. We checked out the Duomo and the beautiful views of the city. Since you are not able to drive into the city center of any of these places we always had a fun time figuring out where to park and how to get in. Florence was tricky as we couldn't take our stroller in from where we parked up on a huge hill that had many steps and steep hills to get there and back. Needless to say Mom and Dad were quite pooped after this day of walking around! Another beautiful day and great food so it was worth it! We pretty much ate every meal outside during our two weeks in Italy, which was great!
