We checked out Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue over the weekend as well. Christmas in NYC is a great experience...however the crowds were amazing as you could barely move through them. The tree was beautiful and worth the crowds!!
Sounds like NYC wants you to see its best before you leave. How could it be better than to see the big city light up like that. Enjoy your last days there and then onto PA and Germany. Blessings to you as you have safe travels.
