Birthday Fun

Ryan and Landon treated me with birthday gifts yesterday! Landon was a big helper with opening the gifts which he loves to do.

STILL WINTER...

Right about now we are missing our time in Vietnam. I thought after having missed the past two winter seasons while living in Hanoi that this winter wouldn't seem so bad. Well we are more than ready for the warmer temps to get here soon. This week we have spent lots of time playing inside, taking some walks, and trying some peas for the first time! This weekend our friend Tom is coming through Frankfurt so we are looking forward to seeing him. Landon always has a good time when he sees Tom!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Valentine's Day!

Ummm, what is that??

Landon wasn't quite sure what to think of his first taste of homemade green beans. He has since gotten a bit more used to their taste. He wasn't feeling it though here. By the end there were green beans on his forehead and the bowl was knocked onto the floor. I'm making squash for him tomorrow, so we will see how that goes over...

NEW PLAYMATE!

Landon had a great time this afternoon with his new friend Freddie! They enjoyed staring at each other, squealing at each other and trying to take toys from the other as well. They are 3 weeks apart in age so it was lots of fun to watch them "interact." It was great to catch up with Veronika after 10 years and meet her husband Joerg and of course cute little Freddie! We hope to see lots of them as they do not live far from us.

SWEET POTATO TIME!

Landon tried sweet potatoes for the first time today. He was a little surprised by it as it is definitely different from his cereal. Hopefully he gets used to it...we made enough to last a couple of weeks at least! He did pretty well though. As always he had the thumb on standby to help him plunge the taters down.

BATH TIME!

Landon loves to be silly in the bathtub. Of course his favorite toy is the water scoop and he doesn't bother with any of the cute animal bath toys. We are still getting settled in to our place. We expect to get the rest of our stuff from the U.S. this coming week. Then we will just be waiting for our car. What a process! Landon is going to have a visitor tomorrow that is just a couple of weeks younger than him. One of Ryan's old roommates from when he was here 10 years ago has a little boy as well. I will be sure to post pics of their visit later.

SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!

Well it was a happy household today after celebrating the Steelers victory. (Even though we weren't sure our hearts could take the up and down of the game.) We are a little groggy today (got to bed at 5am after the game) but the win makes it all much better. Landon had woken up at the end of the game and was glad to see that his team had won. (actually he was excited to see both Mom and Dad awake at such an early hour!...I am sure we had a small part in his waking up even though we were getting pretty good at our whispered cheers)

GO STEELERS!

Landon was wearing his black and gold today and waving his terrible towel in support of his team. He is supporting the Steelers as we speak in his crib in his Steeler pj's. Mom and Dad are drinking a good german beer and getting ready for the kickoff at 12:30am here in Germany. We tried to nap earlier so that we aren't zombies tomorrow but we were too excited for the game. Hope it is a good one!!!

MORE BOXES

It has been some time since our last post. As you can see we have had our hands full unpacking the gazillion boxes that we got from Vietnam. Landon enjoyed supervising the work from his exersaucer. We have unpacked the last box but have lots of organizing ahead of us. It is hard to believe that we have more stuff coming from the U.S. Ugh! (We are not light packers!)
