Gavin is standing!!

It was a bit of a rough week here as the boys got a cold and made it hard to get good sleep for anybody. However, it did not slow them down too much as you can see from the pics. We are all a bit stir crazy as we had to cancel our playdates and Music class this week...hoping to be busy again next week! Potty training took a few steps back this week as Landon was sick and not quite as excited about it! We''ll keep practicing!!!

Gavin pulled himself to standing for the first time yesterday! He was so proud and so was Landon...Landon spotted him while mommy grabbed the camera!




















The train table was a good motivator for him to stand...he loves it!

Gavin is 8 months old!

Gavin is now 8 months old! He just got his third bottom tooth yesterday and was a little bit cranky about it ;( He is growing like a weed and has been in 12 month clothes now for a few weeks. He is crawling everywhere and is curious about everything! He is enamored with the cats and just lights up when they come around (the feeling is not mutual however!) Unfortunately for Simon he is not a quick learner and one time he unwillingly gave Gavin a ride by running with Gavin holding on to his tail. Yikes! As you can see he is also a big fan of the train table. He has fun trying to grab the trains as they go by... Landon not so much!

Potty Training!!

Well we started potty training last weekend and (knock on wood) it has gone really well. Landon has really taken to it and had a few daytime accidents the first few days and since then he hasn't had accidents and is able to go all by himself. He had fun on his "Big Day" when he said bye bye to diapers and learned how to use the potty with his friend Scotty! We also gave the boys their first bath together this week and they had a good time and it makes it a lot easier for Mom & Dad too!

Watch out World...

Gavin has mastered his crawling and it is a whole new world in our house. He is a curious little boy and gets around quite fast now. He doesn't even want to take his naps anymore the last couple of days because he would prefer to be exploring...

Now that G is crawling Landon loves to play with him in his Thomas tunnel. He said Gavvy was his best friend today. So cute!

Grandparent's Visit!

Well the week went by super fast but the boys enjoyed every moment of having the grandparents here. There was lots of playing trains, reading books and cuddling with the boys. We are looking forward to being back in the States in a few months so that the boys can get lots more time with family!!

More fun in the snow...

Here are some pics of Landon having some more fun in the snow. He really enjoyed sledding and went down a super tiny slope by himself...it took 3 seconds but he didn't seem to mind. The walk back was far easier anyway! He also liked throwing snowballs at Daddy as well!

Freiburg Germany

We took an overnight trip to Freiburg Germany and enjoyed the sights and the great food and beer that we love from there. It was a bit frigid but the lights and stars hanging throughout the city were pretty and we all had a great visit. Grandma & Grandpa ventured down to Basel Switzerland and Colmar France the next day for some quick sightseeing as well.

Sledding!!

Well we have had quite a bit of snow here in Germany in December but had not yet been able to try out Landon's new sled since we were sick since the big snow hit. Thankfully (I guess) it has remained cold and there was still plenty of snow on the ground to go sledding last week. Landon took a turn with Daddy, Grandma & Grandpa and Gavin went down the hill with Mommy. Landon really enjoyed it and lasted in the cold longer than we thought he would. Here's hoping for more snow!!

Grandma & Grandpa Cacka arrive in Germany!

Grandma & Grandpa Cacka came to visit the week after Christmas and the boys had a great time. Here they are opening the presents from them shortly after they arrived! Opening presents never gets old and Landon enjoyed passing them out. Gavin still liked the paper the best ;)
