Gavin James is 2 months old!

Here are some pics of our little man Gavin. He is changing so fast and getting bigger and bigger everyday. We just took him in for his immunizations today (I hate doing those...it is so traumatic for baby and parents!) and he weighed 13lbs. 15oz. He is catching up fast to Landon who tips the scales at 26lbs. At two months we are almost about ready to pack away the 3 month clothes as they are getting a bit snug. Hoping to last a couple more weeks as I have soooo many cute outfits he hasn't worn yet!

Birthday Party!

We had Landon's birthday party on Saturday and invited some of his friends over to celebrate with some cake and ice cream. Of course this year's theme had to be Thomas the Tank Engine and Landon was sooooo excited to see his cake! His excitement totally made it worth the effort to try to figure out how to make it!! He also loved being sung to as you can see from his smile down below when we finished his happy birthday song. Needless to say he was still running in circles (literally) long after the party was over from all of the excitement and sugar! It was a fun day and we enjoyed watching him have a great time with his friends.

Happy 2nd Birthday Landon!!

Here are some pics of Landon's actual birthday on July 22nd. We spent a fun day at the indoor playground (Vizz) which he loves in downtown Frankfurt. (It was a yucky day outside.) Then we had a yummy pizza lunch while we were out. That evening we had pesto pasta for dinner (one of Landon's favorites) and cheesecake for dessert. Then of course the present opening fun afterwards.

On a side note: Landon decided the day before his birthday that he was going to climb out of his crib out of the blue. We even lowered it all the way to the floor to try to keep him in it but he still managed to get out. I guess once he realized that he could do it he wouldn't stop until he could get out. So since it was getting dangerous we changed it to a toddler bed. The only problem now is he is getting up a few times a night. (more than Gavin! Ugh!!) So we will see how he adjusts, but since he is still so little we may switch back to the crib with a crib tent if he doesn't get used to it soon. Will update later...

Kids Fest!

Last weekend we went to a Kids Festival along the Main River and Landon had a great time, while Gavin napped away in his stroller. Here are some pics from the morning. We have also gone to the Opel Zoo with Grandma & Grandpa, the Vizz indoor playground and lots of visits to the playground and duck pond. Grandma & Grandpa are now in Amsterdam for a few days so the boys are missing them. I hope they rest up a bit because Landon will be ready to go again when they return!

Grandma & Grandpa Russell

Well we have been busy the last 10 days since Grandma & Grandpa Russell have been visiting. Lots of fun for the boys for sure!! Here are some pics of Landon and Gavin soaking up their time with the grandparents! More pics to come of the birthday festivities!!

Smiley Boys!

Here are some pics of Gavin smiling at his Daddy and brother. It has been really hot the last couple of days in Germany as well and without air-conditioning it can be pretty uncomfortable. We had the pool out yesterday but it was too hot to even be outside today. So we had some friends over for dinner and hung out with our army of fans. The good thing is that it usually doesn't get this hot or stay hot for long. Hope it cools down just a bit soon!

Just relaxing...

We also got in lots of pool time as it was a very hot weekend here in Frankfurt. The weather also called for some nice family afternoon naps...now if we could just give Gavin the memo that he should sleep at the same time as all of us at night as well ;) Oh well, we will cut him some slack since he is only 6 weeks old!

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend. We had a good time hanging close to home. Here are some pics of the boys getting ready to head out to the Consulate's July 4th party. Landon had a good time bouncing in all of the inflatable contraptions as you can see, well most of the time. He would want in then back out and back in again. He was torn between being overwhelmed and not wanting to miss out on the fun.

World Cup Mania

World Cup fever has gripped Germany, and with good reason. Their team looks really good. They beat Argentina on Saturday to make it to the semifinals. Ryan went into downtown Frankfurt to see some of the festivities during the game. As you can see below, wherever a cafe set up an outdoor television, crowds congregated. The rest of the city, including a street fair on the main shopping square and the main public transit hub in downtown, were completely deserted. Quite a spectacle! It's a great time to be in Germany - Go Deutschland!

Goal for Germany!!!!

A fair without any visitors...

Where are the passengers?

The sun is out, but no one is at the park????
